WoW Forever datamined cosmetics: Blizzard says these assets are not for Forever

Blizzard has clarified that the latest disputed datamined art assets are not intended for WoW Forever. Here is what that means for mounts, cosmetics and farming plans.

Are those new mounts and cosmetics coming to Forever?

Blizzard says the art assets recently datamined from the latest WoW Forever beta build are not intended for this version of World of Warcraft. Community manager Kaivax posted the clarification on October 16 after the models attracted attention online.

The practical answer is to leave this batch out of your Forever farming and collection plans. A model appearing in a gallery is not an unlock you can work toward in the beta.

Why the screenshots caused confusion

Wowhead’s gallery showed mounts, pets, a tent toy and cosmetic equipment. It has since added Blizzard’s clarification at the top. The original gallery described discovered models rather than verified acquisition methods.

A discussion of the clarification was among r/classicwow’s top posts when we checked on October 17. That makes the correction useful to share, but the discussion itself is not evidence that an item is available. The official statement is the deciding source here.

What the statement does and does not establish

The statement addresses the recently datamined art assets. It does not identify a different release for them or announce an acquisition method. We should not replace one guess with another about a shop, event or future expansion.

It also should not be stretched into a claim that every cosmetic feature in Forever has been cancelled. Keep this specific correction separate from other features or character models that have their own announcements.

How to judge the next datamined reward

Before planning a farm, look for evidence of how the item is actually obtained. An item record can tell you a name or a description without establishing whether a quest, vendor or drop is available to players.

For something you intend to spend an evening chasing, check the build date and the source’s latest update. A guide written before a clarification may still appear in search results with its original headline.

What you have foundWhat it establishes
A model imageThe asset exists in the inspected data.
An item tooltipThe record has listed properties. Availability still needs evidence.
An official correctionEarlier assumptions must be checked against it.
A documented acquisition method in the current buildA stronger basis for planning a collection attempt.

Keep your next session grounded in something playable

If a newly discovered reward has no verified source, keep it as something to follow rather than a reason to abandon your current plan. There is no Forever route to these models that we can recommend.

For a fresh character, choose a written leveling route and decide what you want to complete in the next session. For an established character, a known quest chain or profession milestone gives you a clearer goal than an unconfirmed collection hunt.

Sources and review notes

Reviewed October 17. Blizzard’s October 16 statement overrides speculation about this asset batch. The model image is included to identify the report being corrected, not to advertise a Forever unlock.
