WoW Forever Spirit Healer penalty: durability, sickness and corpse runs

The latest WoW Forever beta datamine reduces Spirit Healer durability damage from 50% to 25%. See what still applies and how to choose between reviving and a corpse run.

Spirit Healer durability damage drops to 25%

Wowhead’s October 8 datamine reports 25% durability damage for resurrecting at a Spirit Healer, down from 50%. Resurrection Sickness still applies. This is a change to that revival option, not a statement that every death penalty has been halved.

Read the prompt before choosing to revive

At the Spirit Healer, read the current warning before accepting. If the client gives different information, use that prompt for your decision and record the build when reporting it.

Our advice is to compare the trip back to your body with what you will do after reviving. A convenient graveyard can look attractive, but equipment damage and sickness may still interrupt your plans.

If your body is reachable and the area is manageable, returning to it is worth considering. If you repeatedly die trying to reach it, pause and work out what is causing the problem before making another attempt.

Your situationWhat to consider
Reachable bodyCheck the path and nearby enemies before returning.
Difficult recoveryCompare another attempt with the penalty shown by the Spirit Healer.
Reviving at the graveyardCheck equipment condition and active sickness before entering combat.
Playing with friendsTell them where you will return so the group can regroup.

A smaller durability hit is not a fixed repair saving

A percentage of durability is not a universal copper or silver charge. The equipment you wear and its condition affect what you need to repair. We are not assigning a repair bill to this change.

After reviving, check your gear and available money. Repair before a difficult outing when you can, and leave enough for the supplies or training you were planning to buy.

Get your route moving again

Once you are ready to continue, check your current quest step and the destination you were travelling towards. A death can leave you somewhere quite different from where you started the outing.

A WoW Forever leveling addon can keep the next supported quest step and directions visible while you regroup. It cannot remove Resurrection Sickness or change the game’s durability rules. If you use Wisp, review your active step before heading back into combat.
