WoW Forever companion pets: Excitable Slime and Baby Crocolisk
Get the Excitable Slime through Undercity’s WRIGGLE quest and learn where Baby Crocolisk drops. A practical guide to two WoW Forever beta companions.
Which pet fits a quick city visit?
Excitable Slime is the easier side trip if you are already visiting Undercity. Its WRIGGLE quest asks for one piece of food after you befriend a slime. Baby Crocolisk comes from a much tougher encounter in Stormwind, where Wowhead reports beta groups killing the level 50 elite Sewer Beast.
Both rewards teach companion summons. They are little travelling companions, not Hunter combat pets or upgrades for your leveling build. Choose the one you like rather than treating either as a required stop.

How to get Excitable Slime in Undercity
Wowhead places Boyle, the sludge vendor, around 56.2, 64.6 in Undercity. The reported interaction is simple once you have the right food.
- Buy one Nutritious Slime Sludge from Boyle.
- Find an Excitable Slime in the Undercity canals and target it.
- Use /dance until the slime responds and offers WRIGGLE.
- Accept the quest, then hand over the sludge to receive your Excitable Slime companion.
- Use the reward item to learn the summon.
What if the slime stops responding?
The quest text specifically says to dance again if the slime seems tired. Player reports also describe repeating the emote before it offers the quest, so one attempt without a response does not mean you have the wrong creature.
Check that you still have the food before turning in. Nutritious Slime Sludge is an edible item as well as a quest requirement, so save that portion for the slime. You need one, not a full stack.
Look for the exact NPC name when targeting. The friendly interaction happens with Excitable Slime. The companion item you receive afterwards has the same name, which can make searches confusing.
Where does Baby Crocolisk drop?
Wowhead reports Baby Crocolisk as a drop from the Sewer Beast in Stormwind’s canals. Its September 30 coverage describes large beta groups defeating the elite. We have not established a drop chance or a respawn timer.
This is a collection goal to arrange with other players, rather than a quick solo detour on a starter character. If you see a group forming, ask how it is handling the encounter and loot before joining. Do not abandon a short questing session expecting a guaranteed pet.

Use the reward to learn your new companion
Both item tooltips describe learning a companion summon. Baby Crocolisk is marked as binding when picked up. Its item level of 50 is not a stated level 50 requirement to learn the pet, so do not confuse that database label with the difficulty of obtaining it.
Players also report that the summoned Excitable Slime responds when you dance at it. Try that after learning the pet if the little interaction was what drew you to the quest.
Make it part of a city stop
Pair the Undercity visit with errands you already need, such as training, repairs or clearing your bags. Before taking a detour, note your current quest and where you intend to return. That leaves room for a discovery without losing track of the evening’s plan.
