WoW Forever Dalaran guide: travel, trainers and useful stops
Plan a useful visit to Dalaran in WoW Forever. Check travel options, profession trainers, cloth donations and the difference between the city and its dungeon.
Give your Dalaran visit a purpose
Dalaran is open to explore in the Forever beta. Wowhead’s September 29 report describes an Alliance city despite its Sanctuary label, so Horde players should not assume they can use its services safely.
For a leveling character, the useful question is what you need before the next outing. Training, crafting and a specific quest hand-in can fit into one visit. Decide on those jobs before travelling, then leave room to explore if that is what you came for.

How to get to Dalaran in the beta
The city sits northwest of Southshore in the Alterac Mountains. The report describes stairs north of Hillsbrad Fields, a flying boat from Valanaar on Zephras Isle, and a connection with Stormwind’s Wizard’s Sanctum. No city flight path was found.
Check the portal on your own character before building a trip around it. We have not established which races or quest states can use it. Keep your return journey in mind too, especially before changing your hearthstone location.

Trainer names to look for
The Forever database lists these NPCs in Alterac Mountains. Wowhead’s city visit places Charles in Talismanic Textiles, Linzy in The Agronomical Apothecary and Alfina in the Violet Citadel.

Set aside cloth before donating it
A Donation of Wool, quest 99191, requires 60 Wool Cloth and lists 150 High Order reputation as its reward. Wowhead places the quest giver, Belanaa Windveil, in the Sky Enclave inside the Violet Citadel.
Count the wool you need for your own crafts before handing it over. If Tailoring or First Aid is part of your leveling plan, compare the donation with your next recipe. Our suggestion is to donate spare cloth when you want the reputation, rather than buy several stacks simply because a new quest marker appears.
Visiting the city is different from entering the dungeon
Wowhead describes an Alliance dungeon entrance through the sewers at Cantrips & Crows and a separate exterior Horde entrance requiring a Dalaran Sewer Key.
The key’s database record confirms a unique, bind-on-pickup item. It does not give us a verified acquisition route, so arrange the key requirement with your group before making the trip. A city sightseeing visit is not a substitute for checking the dungeon’s level range and preparing its quests.
Head back out with your next stop in mind
Before leaving, check your next quest, the supplies it needs and where you will return. Keeping those few decisions together makes it easier to spend the rest of the session playing.
