WOW FOREVER · DUNGEON OVERVIEW
WoW Forever New Dungeons: Locations, Level Ranges and What We Know
Nine new adventures could change the journey to level 60. Here are the reported locations and level brackets, plus what we still need to test before building routes around them.
WoW Forever has nine new dungeons announced. Blizzard’s opening-ceremony recap lists them separately from its three new zones. If you have seen a table featuring Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper’s Terrace, it describes dungeon destinations, rather than nine new questing zones. Blizzard’s announcement confirms that distinction.
All nine new dungeons and reported level ranges
Icy Veins’ dungeon roundup and Wccftech’s BlizzCon report agree on these nine brackets. Use them to shortlist adventures for your character’s level, with the practical details still pending testing.
| Dungeon | Levels | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Hall of Thanes | 13–18 | Beneath Ironforge |
| Ruins of Lordaeron | 15–20 | Lordaeron |
| Wetlands Excavation Site | 24–29 | Above Whelgar’s Excavation, Wetlands |
| Dalaran | 28–33 | Alterac Mountains |
| The Drowned City | 35–40 | Off Stranglethorn Vale |
| Krol’dok Stronghold | 40–55 | Riverglades |
| Alcaz Island Prison | 48–53 | Alcaz Island |
| Blackmaw Hold | 55–60 | Azshara |
| Shaper’s Terrace | 58–60 | Un’Goro Crater hills |
What do we know about each location?
The brief descriptions below summarise the setting reported in Wccftech’s panel coverage and Icy Veins’ overview. They introduce the destinations; they are not boss strategies or entrance walkthroughs.
Hall of Thanes (13–18)
An intrusion into dwarven royal tombs sets the scene for this early adventure.
Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20)
The ruined capital still harbours Scourge, with a necromancer threatening further trouble.
Wetlands Excavation Site (24–29)
Titan activity brings an archaeological mystery to the mountains above the familiar excavation.
Dalaran (28–33)
The city’s failed magical defences expose a wider area to explore, with arcane and demonic hazards.
The Drowned City (35–40)
Newly surfaced troll ruins bring together naga, trolls and the remains of a pirate expedition.
Krol’dok Stronghold (40–55)
This outdoor ogre stronghold threatens neighbouring settlements and has an unusually broad reported level bracket.
Alcaz Island Prison (48–53)
Defias and naga conflict draws players into a prison linked to stories of Varian’s captivity.
Blackmaw Hold (55–60)
Beyond the gate lies a furbolg settlement facing corruption, with passages pointing towards Barrow Deeps.
Shaper’s Terrace (58–60)
Titan machinery and dangerous wildlife share this high-level facility in the hills.
How could these dungeons fit into levelling?
Our planning approach is to treat a dungeon as an optional branch from a questing route. A bracket tells you when to investigate it; it does not tell you whether travelling there, finding a party and completing a run will beat the quests already nearby.
For an early character, the useful comparison is between the two reported low-level options and the journey required to reach each. Later, the overlapping brackets around the high twenties give us a reason to test alternative paths rather than prescribe one universal order. A location’s faction history alone is not enough to establish who can enter or how they get there.
Krol’dok’s broad bracket particularly needs hands-on investigation. We cannot assume every encounter suits every character from 40 to 55, or that repeated runs are the best way through those levels. Likewise, a late-game dungeon appearing in the table is not evidence that it is a required stop before level 60.
Before recommending a dungeon detour in Wisp, we need to record:
- Entrance access, approach safety and travel time from the surrounding route.
- Quest pickup locations, prerequisites and where the completed quests are handed in.
- Party requirements, completion time and experience gained in actual runs.
- A clear return point for questing, including a useful fallback when a group is unavailable.
Those checks will let us offer a meaningful choice: continue levelling, or take a tested dungeon detour with a clear way back. Until then, our WoW Forever levelling preparation guide is the starting point for planning, with its own testing notes.
Where did the circulating screenshot come from?
We found a matching table in u/nokiashorty’s “Forever Blizzcon 2026 Summary” on r/classicwow, under “New dungeons and dungeon-like areas.” Its wording and row order match the screenshot shared with us. That identifies a matching public source, though we cannot establish who originally captured the image.
There are naming differences worth retaining: the community table says “Krol’dor,” while both linked press reports use “Krol’dok.” It also leaves the Defias prison unnamed; those reports identify it as Alcaz Island Prison. “Wetlands Excavation Site” is used here as the reported label, without treating it as a verified final dungeon name.
Our source hierarchy is straightforward: Blizzard confirms the announced dungeon count; the two press reports support the roster and brackets; the Reddit post explains the screenshot’s provenance. We have not verified the full roster or individual ranges in a playable build. This overview will need another review when that evidence becomes available.
