WoW Forever Blackmaw Hold: the Timbermaw dungeon and Aggrend’s BRD hint
Blackmaw Hold is listed for levels 55–60 in WoW Forever. Here is what the new Timbermaw dungeon teaser tells us, where it belongs and what remains unknown.
What did Aggrend say about the Timbermaw dungeon?
Josh Greenfield has given players another reason to watch Blackmaw Hold. Replying to a request for a dungeon like Blackrock Depths, he wrote “Hold our beer(s).” and attached the accompanying furbolg entrance image.
The September 28 reply quickly reached r/classicwow, where the discussion passed 2,000 votes when we checked. Players are reading it as a hint towards a large Timbermaw dungeon. That is a reasonable interpretation of the exchange, although the post does not reveal its layout, boss count or length.

Blackmaw Hold or Timbermaw Hold? And what level is it?
Blackmaw Hold is the name in Blizzard’s published list of new Forever dungeons. The official bracket is 55–60. Today’s Reddit title uses Timbermaw and says 58–60, but the developer’s short reply does not announce a revised level range. Use Blizzard’s table when planning your journey.
Wowhead describes Blackmaw Hold as a furbolg city behind the gates in northern Azshara. That is the location to associate with this dungeon preview. A discussion about Timbermaw reputation is a different question and does not establish how to unlock the instance.
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Published dungeon name | Blackmaw Hold |
| Announced level bracket | 55–60 |
| Reported location | Behind the furbolg gates in northern Azshara |
| New information | A developer reply hinting at a BRD-like dungeon |
Do you need reputation, a key or an attunement?
The sources checked for this article do not establish an entry quest, a reputation requirement or a key. They also do not provide a tested list of bosses, loot or dungeon quests. A suggested level bracket is not the same thing as a confirmed minimum entry level.
For now, there is no verified reason here to begin a Timbermaw reputation grind for dungeon access. If you are saving time for a first run with friends, wait for the actual access requirements and quest pickups before sending everyone on errands.
Where does it fit into your leveling plans?
At the announced bracket, Blackmaw Hold belongs towards the end of the journey to 60. It is something to look forward to with your group, rather than a detour from a starting-zone route.
Our suggestion is to treat the first visit as an evening of exploring. Agree whether the group wants to see everything or work through particular quests once those details are available. The teaser gives no reliable completion time, so a fixed schedule would be guesswork.
If you are still getting started, our written routes and Wisp’s free beta can help with the early quests. They do not currently include a Blackmaw Hold walkthrough. For an earlier dungeon outing, our Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron articles cover the available entrance and quest information.
