WoW Forever Lyn the Ignored: how to summon the City of Dalaran secret boss

How to summon Lyn the Ignored, the secret boss in the WoW Forever City of Dalaran dungeon: get the Black Tome in Shadowfang Keep, make the Tome of Dalaran in Ambermill and find the rune.

How do you summon Lyn the Ignored?

Lyn the Ignored is a hidden boss in the City of Dalaran dungeon in the Forever beta. Take the Black Tome from Arugal’s room in Shadowfang Keep, turn it into the Tome of Dalaran at the Ambermill Leyline Focus in Silverpine Forest, then use the tome on a summoning rune in the dungeon’s sewers.

The dungeon opened for testing on October 8, and Warcraft Tavern and Wowhead published the steps on October 9 and 11. Blizzard has not described the boss in its notes.

Step by step

The two guides agree on the route. Where one adds a detail, we name it.

StepWhereWhat to do
1Shadowfang KeepDefeat Archmage Arugal, then click the book on the table at the back of his room. Warcraft Tavern says it is up the stairs, on a table covered in alchemy ingredients. You receive the Black Tome.
2Ambermill, Silverpine ForestGo into the town hall at the back of Ambermill. Find the Ambermill Leyline Focus, a blue crystal beside Archmage Ataeric at 63.4, 64.3. Use the Black Tome next to it to get the Tome of Dalaran.
3City of Dalaran sewersDefeat Atrexis the Grave Knight and carry on through the sewers. Where the ramp on the right leads up towards the Arcane Anomaly, go straight ahead into the tunnel and clear the small room.
4Summoning runeUse the Tome of Dalaran on the purple rune on the floor. Lyn appears after a short scene.

Is the Tome of Dalaran used up?

According to Wowhead, no. Its guide says the tome is not consumed when you use it and has a 3-minute cooldown, so you can try again if your group wipes. Warcraft Tavern does not mention either point, and Blizzard has not confirmed them.

The Black Tome’s tooltip points you to the Leyline Focus, according to Warcraft Tavern. If you already have a Tome of Dalaran from an earlier Shadowfang Keep run, check your bags before running the dungeon again.

Before you go

Warcraft Tavern describes the City of Dalaran as a level 30 dungeon west of the Alterac Mountains. Horde players need the attunement chain and sewer key first. The beta is currently capped at level 30.

Neither guide says whether every group member needs their own tome, so collect the Black Tome on your Shadowfang Keep run if you might lead the summon later. Allow time for the trip to Ambermill between the two dungeons.

What we do not know yet

Neither guide lists Lyn’s loot. It is also unclear whether Lyn appears every time or whether the encounter will change before launch.

The City of Dalaran is new in the October 8 beta build and may change between builds. ForeverWisp has not run the dungeon or summoned Lyn, so check the latest beta notes before you plan a run around it.
