WoW Forever Excavation Site: Wetlands dungeon preparation
Excavation Site is open in the WoW Forever beta. Check Blizzard’s updated 26–31 range, the Dalaran distinction and what to prepare for your first run.
Is Excavation Site open in the beta?
Yes. Blizzard’s October 1 update opens Excavation Site in Wetlands and lists it for levels 26–31. The beta character cap is now 30.
If you have seen a 24–29 bracket, that appears in earlier coverage. Use the newer official range when deciding whether to investigate the dungeon with your group. A published bracket is not a verified minimum entry level.

Is this the new Dalaran dungeon?
No. Wowhead’s October 1 report says Excavation Site is the new dungeon opening with this update. Dalaran’s dungeon is being held for a future beta update.
Keep the two destinations separate when arranging a run. Exploring the Dalaran questing area does not establish that its dungeon is available.
Before your first Excavation Site run
Treat the first visit as an exploration run. Tell the group that before travelling, especially if some players are expecting a quick clear. Agreeing on the pace is more useful than discovering different expectations at the first unfamiliar pull.
Our preparation checklist focuses on what you can check yourself. We have not completed this dungeon or verified its entrance coordinates, bosses or quest prerequisites.

| Time | Agree whether you are learning the dungeon, doing quests or chasing a particular reward. |
How to fit a dungeon into your leveling evening
Keep a note of your next outdoor quest before leaving your current area. If the group falls through, you can return to that plan without spending the whole session waiting.
A dungeon trip includes travel, forming the party and handing in any completed quests. Compare that whole trip with the time you have, rather than treating a level bracket as proof of the quickest leveling route.
Wisp’s current free beta covers eight starting routes towards level 20. It does not include an Excavation Site walkthrough or a 20–30 route. Use our written routes if you are bringing another character up, then make a separate plan for this dungeon.
