WoW Forever Past Due quest: Dalaran to Scarlet Monastery Library
Where to pick up Past Due in WoW Forever, its level requirement, the book from Arcanist Doan and what to check before your Scarlet Monastery Library run.
Where does Past Due start?
Past Due is an Alliance dungeon quest from Magus Olvek in Dalaran. Wowhead’s quest entry lists a minimum level of 30 and a quest level of 38. Olvek also handles the turn-in.
Your objective is The Lost Magic of the Runemasters. Wowhead’s Dalaran report identifies Arcanist Doan, the final boss of Scarlet Monastery Library, as the enemy to defeat and loot for it. Pick up the quest before your group heads to the monastery.

Add the pickup to your dungeon preparation
Treat level 30 as the pickup requirement, not a promise that your group is ready to clear the Library. Agree on the wing and your party’s readiness before making the trip. A quest in your log is useful only if everyone is heading to the same place.
Our suggested order is simple: collect the quest, check your bags and supplies, agree how the group is travelling, then leave. If you also need training in Dalaran, do it during the same visit. Avoid sending four friends to wait outside the instance while you make a separate city trip.
Before entering, confirm that Past Due is actually in your log. After Doan, check the quest objective and your bags before leaving the dungeon. Arrange the return to Olvek as part of the outing rather than assuming the hand-in is nearby.
Do not assume the Stormwind portal still takes you back
The same final-beta report says the Stormwind-to-Dalaran portal for High Order Skyborne appeared to be missing, while the Dalaran-to-Stormwind portal remained. That is a reported observation, not confirmation of the launch transport layout.
Check your outbound and return options separately. If your plan depends on a portal, verify it on your character before moving your hearthstone or committing the group to a detour. Our Dalaran guide now flags this change alongside the older travel information.
What are the rewards?
The database lists a choice between Salve and Salvation and Knucklebound Thimble. It also shows 100 Kirin Tor reputation and 6,750 experience at the displayed level setting of 38. Check your own quest reward panel before treating that XP number as the amount your character will receive.
Compare the actual reward tooltips with your current equipment. A new item name alone does not tell you which option fits your build, and we have not independently tested these rewards in game.
Make the dungeon a planned break in your leveling route
A good dungeon trip can give your group a change of pace and a clear shared objective. Choose where you will resume questing afterwards so the next session does not begin with everyone in a different zone.
Use the written leveling overview to plan the surrounding journey and the addon page to see how Wisp presents in-game guidance. This article documents the new quest. It does not mean Past Due has already been added to a released Wisp route.
