WoW Forever Attune addon: plan your dungeon quest chains

Attune’s Forever beta release adds dungeon quest chains up to Maraudon. Check prerequisites, compare your progress and fit dungeon preparation into your leveling route.

See the quests that come before the dungeon

Attune’s latest Forever release adds dungeon quest chains up to Maraudon. Published on September 25, version 16001-19 targets Forever 1.60.1. A popular September 26 post on r/classicwow shows its Wailing Caverns tree, bringing the feature to more players’ attention.

The useful part is the chain itself. A list of dungeon quests can tell you what rewards exist. Seeing the earlier steps helps you work out what you can pick up now and what needs another visit before your group sets off.

How to open Attune and check your progress

Attune’s project page documents /attune as the command to open its progress window. It describes visual quest chains and a guild survey that collects progress from guild members who also have the addon.

For a dungeon trip, start with your own character. Find the relevant dungeon entry, compare the displayed chain with your quest log, and identify the earliest unfinished step. Write down its pickup and any requirement you still need to meet. Repeat that check for each separate chain rather than assuming one completed branch covers the whole dungeon.

Guild progress can help you find people doing the same steps. It does not mean those players have accepted your quest, or that they meet every requirement for your next one. Agree on the actual quest names when arranging the run.

Check the Forever version before installing

Download Attune-Forever-v16001-19.zip from CixiDelmont’s project. The file is labelled for Forever 1.60.1. Its changelog says the dungeon chains extend up to Maraudon, but also describes the release as work in progress with guesswork still involved.

If your copy only shows raids, check which release you installed and which game it targets. One player in the new discussion reports that exact problem. An older Classic or Burning Crusade package is not the Forever file linked here. Restart the client after installing and use /attune to check the view.

The shared screenshot lists the Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron. Those entries are encouraging, but the author’s warning matters. Confirm your actual pickups in the client instead of treating every branch as complete. We have not tested Attune alongside Wisp.

Turn the tree into a short preparation list

Our approach is to separate the tasks you need before entering from the ones you can finish inside. That keeps a diagram from becoming another long list you never act on.

What you findWhat to do before leaving
An unfinished prerequisiteComplete it or agree to return for that chain on another run.
A quest you can accept nowVisit the giver and confirm it appears in your quest log.
An item needed for the objectiveKeep it in your bags and read the current quest text.
A quest you hope someone will shareCheck eligibility before depending on a party member.
A blank or doubtful pickup locationVerify the starting NPC before making the journey.

A dungeon quest is not automatically an attunement

Keep optional rewards, prerequisite quests and access requirements separate. A quest chain ending inside a dungeon does not by itself prove that you need it to enter. Likewise, an attunement shown in an addon does not establish that its raid is open in the current beta.

Do not count on sharing to bypass the preparation. Blizzard’s September 24 notes fixed some dungeon quests that were shareable and gave recipients a quest item. Read the current requirements for the particular quest instead of assuming every missing chain can be handed over at the entrance.

Keep your outdoor leveling route alongside the checklist

If you prefer to browse dungeon rewards and pickup details, our Dungeon Journal article covers that separate addon. Attune’s attraction here is seeing how earlier quests connect. Choose the view that answers the question you actually have.

Once the group trip is arranged, return to your character’s outdoor route. Wisp brings supported quest directions and profession stops into the game. Its free written 1–20 guides also let you read ahead and choose where a dungeon outing fits into your evening.
