WoW Forever Savory Whimsyfin Delight: recipe, fish and transformations
Find out how Savory Whimsyfin Delight works in WoW Forever, what the Cooking recipe needs and where beta players report fishing for Whimsyfin.
How do you turn into a Murloc or Ogre?
Savory Whimsyfin Delight is a new Cooking dish in the WoW Forever beta that changes your character’s appearance. Wowhead’s September 29 report describes a Murloc transformation for Body Type 1 and an Ogre for Body Type 2. The spell database lists a one-hour effect, and the report says death ends it early.
This is the cooked dish to look for if you have spotted those transformations around town. Whimsyfin is the ingredient, so keep the fish for Cooking if that is the appearance you want.

What ingredients does the recipe need?
The current Forever crafting entry uses one fish and one spice per craft, producing two dishes. It requires a Cooking Fire. Learn the recipe before buying a batch of ingredients.

What Cooking skill do you need?
The recipe item requires Cooking 85. That is your profession skill, not your character level. Reaching that skill does not teach the dish automatically, so you still need to obtain and learn Recipe: Savory Whimsyfin Delight.
Where does Recipe: Savory Whimsyfin Delight drop?
Wowhead reports drops from enemies in Redridge Mountains, including Great Goretusk. That gives you a place to watch for the recipe while questing, but it does not establish a reliable farming route or a drop percentage.
If you are already doing nearby quests, check your loot before selling. Keep a useful recipe drop even if your Cooking is not ready yet. A dedicated hunt can wait until you know whether you enjoy making the dish.
Where can you fish for Whimsyfin?
Players commenting on Wowhead’s Whimsyfin page report schools in Redridge, east of Lake Everstill and near Stonewatch Keep. These are places to investigate, not a verified circuit. We have not confirmed school respawn timing, the minimum Fishing skill or whether open-water casts also yield the fish.
Bring your fishing gear if you want to look during a Redridge visit. Check the bank for nearby enemies before settling in, and start with a few fish rather than filling your bags for a recipe you have not learned.
A side project for your next Redridge visit
Treat the dish as a fun profession goal alongside your quests. Once you know the recipe, track its ingredients in the profession window and pick a convenient stop to cook. Try a small batch with friends before deciding whether to collect more.
