WoW Forever starter gear: white drops upgraded to greens
Several early WoW Forever drops now have bonus stats. See the reported gear changes and decide what to equip, sell or leave behind while leveling.
What changed in the starting zones?
Wowhead reports that several Common white drops in Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh and Tirisfal Glades now have Uncommon green versions with bonus stats. That makes some familiar early drops worth another look before you sell them.
The report compares item data. It does not establish higher drop rates or show that every starter-zone item has changed. Treat the examples below as a reason to check your bags, not a shopping list you must complete before leaving the zone.

Four early upgrades to watch for
These are the new bonuses and required levels shown in Wowhead’s comparison. Check the tooltip in your current client before equipping or buying an item.
| Item | Required level | Reported bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Ice-covered Bracers | 7 | +1 Agility |
| Royal Frostmane Girdle | 8 | +2 Intellect |
| Wendigo Fur Cloak | 6 | +1 Strength |
| Ghostly Bracers | 5 | +1 Intellect |
A green name does not make it your best item
Compare the actual bonus with what your character needs. An item can be better than its old version without being better than the piece you already wear. Required level and your class’s usable equipment still matter.
For a straightforward decision, look at the old and new item together. Ask whether you gain a useful stat, lose something important, or merely trade one small bonus for another. If you cannot equip the drop yet, decide whether carrying it is worth the bag space.
You do not need to interrupt a good quest circuit to replace every white slot. A useful drop along the way is a welcome upgrade. Repeating a detour for a tiny improvement is a different decision, especially if you would rather reach your next quest hub.
Should you equip it, save it or sell it?
Our suggestion is to make this decision when you next reach a vendor, rather than stopping after every kill. Keep a short list of the slots you actually want to improve.
| Your situation | A practical choice |
|---|---|
| You can equip it and the bonus helps your character | Compare it with your current piece before binding it. |
| It is useful but requires a later level | Keep it if the wait is short and you have room. |
| It is unsuitable for your class | Check whether selling it is worth more to you than keeping it. |
| An Auction House listing looks expensive | Compare the gain with other uses for your gold before buying. |
Keep moving through your starting route
The item changes do not give us a verified new farming circuit. We are keeping the written routes focused on quests and travel, with gear decisions made along the way. There is no measured XP-per-hour improvement attached to these drops.
If you are starting a Human, Dwarf or Gnome, open the route for your race and use its class filter where available. Wisp can put supported steps and navigation in game so you can spend less time checking where to go next.
