Welcome to the Wisp public beta
On 22 September, we opened the Wisp public beta: one free download with eight starting-area routes for WoW Forever, each aiming to guide your character towards level 20.
Wisp keeps your next instruction, quest progress and destination close at hand. You can follow the route at your own pace and open more detail when you need it.
Eight ways to begin your journey
The launch brought together routes for Human, Dwarf and Gnome, Night Elf, Alliance Skyborne, Orc and Troll, Tauren, Undead and Horde Skyborne characters.
Guide selection takes your character into account, and suggested starting points use your level and quest history. You can begin with a new character or look for an appropriate place to join the route you need.
A companion for the road
Alongside the route, nearby objectives help you see useful work around you. Find XP offers another way to look for something to do when you need more experience, and Send feedback gives you a way to report problems from the addon.
The starting routes are free. Download the latest Wisp version, close WoW before installing it, and follow the installation guide. If you are updating, keep your SavedVariables so compatible progress and choices can carry forward.
The beginning of an ongoing beta
The launch was a starting point for testing and improving the routes. Full playthroughs, class coverage and XP pacing remain under review, and some characters may need extra fighting along the way.
There have been several updates since the first public beta. Use the latest download for the current fixes, check Beta status for known limitations, and visit the release notes for the detailed history.
