Wisp updates

Guide update · RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT

Set course for level 35.

Personal Alliance and Horde guides now continue from 30 to 35, about a month earlier than our estimate. Most of the new quests can already be picked up at the level-30 beta cap.

Levels 30–35 arrive early

Our timeline estimated 11 November for the 30–40 band. Levels 30–35 are out now in beta instead: about a month early, and more than three weeks before WoW Forever launches on 4 November.

Version 0.12.0 of each personal pack continues your 20–30 route, so there is no new guide to start. The level-30 checkpoint stays, and your goal becomes level 35.

Where your route goes next

Both faction routes continue through Thousand Needles, Desolace, Dustwallow Marsh, Hillsbrad and Alterac, Arathi, Stranglethorn Vale and the Swamp of Sorrows, finishing with optional XP sessions you can choose.

  • Alliance: an optional Stormwind investigation now follows the Stockade, and the travel card offers the Stormwind–Auberdine and Menethil–Theramore boats where your route crosses the sea.
  • Horde: Wailing Caverns preparation and an optional trip join the 20–30 route, skipping quests you already finished in your starter guide. Level-32 and level-33 recommendations before Desolace and Dustwallow Marsh offer XP options without blocking the route.
  • Both factions: your progress, skips and settings carry over. An older pack names the newer guide in chat, and hearth suggestions stop once you are already where the hearthstone would take you.

Playing at the level-30 beta cap

The beta still caps characters at level 30, but most of the new stretch is already playable. Going by our reference data, 83 of the 89 quests on the Alliance route and 58 of the 65 on the Horde route can be picked up at level 30.

A handful, including Hungry!, Hostile Takeover and Some Assembly Required, list a minimum level of 31–33 and are likely to stay unavailable until launch. You will not gain levels past 30 in the beta, so some enemies will be higher level than you, and the Horde level recommendations will keep showing while you remain at 30.

What’s still to come

The later bands keep their estimates: 35–40 on 11 November, 40–50 on 14 November and 50–60 on 18 November. These are estimates, not release dates; each band is released once it has been checked.

Your faction’s 20–60 pre-order or the launch collection includes each band when it is released, at no extra cost.

Update the addon and your personal pack

This release pairs Wisp 0.30.0-beta.1 with version 0.12.0 of the Alliance and Horde personal packs, which need this version of Wisp. If you own an Alliance or Horde levelling guide, download your updated pack from My guides; there is nothing extra to buy.

Close WoW before updating, install the new Wisp with your pack alongside it, and keep your WTF folder and SavedVariables so your progress carries over.

Still a beta

The 30–35 journey was built from reference data and has not yet been played through in WoW Forever. Quest offers, minimum levels, coordinates and travel may differ in game, and XP may fall short of 35 without the optional XP sessions.

This stretch adds no new class, profession or dungeon branches. If a quest is missing, unavailable or sends you the wrong way, use Send feedback in Wisp so we can check that part of the route.
