WoW Forever Druid leveling weapons: choosing upgrades and enchants

A practical checklist for Druid weapon upgrades in WoW Forever. Compare quest rewards, plan enchant spending and choose gear for how you actually play.

Look at the weapon before selling it

Blizzard’s September 30 deep dive says Bear, Cat and Dire Bear melee auto attacks use the DPS of the equipped weapon. Weapon enchantments and procs also work while shapeshifted, with weightstones, Crusader and Windfury Totem among the examples. Attack speed still depends on your form, so a slower weapon does not mean slower Cat attacks.

For a leveling Druid, that is a good reason to pause at the quest reward screen. Compare the whole item with what you are carrying before choosing the reward with the highest vendor price.

Compare it with the way you spend your session

Start with your next few quests. Are you fighting in a form, casting from range or planning to heal friends in a dungeon? Write down what the new weapon adds and what you would give up. One attractive number should not hide the rest of the comparison.

Keep your current weapon until you have made that decision. If you regularly change roles, it may deserve a place in your bags even after you find something better for solo questing.

Choose an enchant budget before browsing prices

An enchant can be useful without being worth your entire wallet. Our advice is to decide what you can spend after training, repairs and supplies, then compare options within that amount. Buying the most expensive choice is not a leveling plan.

Think about how long you expect to keep the weapon. If you are already working toward a replacement, saving the materials may suit you better. If you enjoy crafting your own upgrades, check the recipe and weapon requirements before asking someone to make one.

Give your new weapon a fair comparison

Try an affordable upgrade during ordinary questing before committing more money. Keep your talents, buffs and target level as similar as possible. Compare several fights and pay attention to healing breaks as well as how quickly enemies die.

Treat that as a check for your character, not a universal ranking. A lucky critical hit or a much easier enemy can make one weapon look better than it is. Blizzard’s announcement does not supply an item ranking or a reason to promise a particular leveling speed.

Get back to the part you enjoy

Once you have made the choice, carry on with your adventure. Our written Night Elf and Tauren routes include a Druid class choice. Wisp’s free beta brings supported quest steps and directions into the game so you can spend less time finding your place between quests.
