WoW Forever Gnomeregan loot bug: Blizzard says it is fixed

Blizzard has confirmed a fix after Forever beta players reported Gnomeregan bosses dropping no loot. What the reply confirms and what to check before a run.

Blizzard has replied to the missing-loot reports

Blizzard says it has fixed the Gnomeregan problem reported by WoW Forever beta players. The thread began with reports that bosses were not dropping loot, including quest-related items.

Community manager Kaivax replied that the team had fixed it earlier that afternoon. The response was posted on October 4 in UTC. It is a direct reply in the Forever beta forum, rather than a change inferred from a Classic or Season of Discovery guide.

What did players report afterwards?

The immediate replies were mixed. One player relayed a recent failed run, while the original poster later edited their reply to say the dungeon was working again. Those reports add context but do not establish the result on every realm or in every existing instance.

The clearest status we can give is that Blizzard announced a fix. The reply does not promise replacement items for earlier kills or explain exactly which existing runs were affected.

A short checklist before your next leveling run

If missing loot made you postpone Gnomeregan, check the latest replies before setting off again. Our preparation advice is to make the next attempt useful even if you only have time for one run.

  • Confirm which quests each party member has before entering. Similar quest names or different stages can cause confusion about what should drop.
  • Check bag space and agree how you will handle loot before the first boss.
  • Tell the group if you are there for a particular quest item so you can check the result together.
  • If an item does not appear, distinguish an empty boss loot window from a particular item simply not dropping. Those are different observations.

If bosses still drop no loot

Record the realm, client build, approximate time and affected boss. Include whether the group entered before or after the announced fix, and whether anyone could loot the boss. A screenshot of the relevant window or quest state is more useful than a general report that the dungeon feels broken.

Use the beta’s bug-reporting tools with those details. Do not reset your leveling guide to try to create missing boss loot. A guide can help you follow quest steps, but it cannot change what the game server awards.

If your group cannot continue a quest, keep the character’s current progress and choose another activity for the session. Return to the official thread for further updates rather than assuming that repeated resets will solve it.

Reviewed October 4. Kaivax’s reply is the source for the fix. Players in the same thread describe their own results. We have not independently run Gnomeregan to verify loot.
