WoW Forever quest fixes: what changed for leveling on October 8
Find the latest fixes for Lazy Peons, Taillasher Eggs, Hidden Enemies and other WoW Forever quests, plus a checklist for getting your leveling route moving again.
Which leveling quests have been fixed?
Blizzard’s October 8 beta update addresses several early quest bottlenecks. Durotar gets more Taillasher Eggs, Lazy Peons gets a clearer map marker and Neeru Fireblade gets a marker for Hidden Enemies. Other changes cover escorts, item follow-ups and crowded objectives.
Start by checking the quest you already have. A corrected marker can help you find an objective without abandoning the quest or starting the whole route again.

Starting-zone fixes by location
These are the changes listed in the October 8 notes. A faster respawn does not remove the quest’s other requirements.
| Area or class | Quest | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Durotar | Break A Few Eggs | More Taillasher Eggs, with quicker respawns. |
| Durotar | Lazy Peons | Peons are lazier and the marker includes the northern peons. |
| Orgrimmar | Hidden Enemies | Neeru Fireblade now has a map marker and mouseover tooltip. |
| Dun Morogh | Farsen’s Watch | Moving or turning no longer cancels Far Sight. Right-click still cancels it. |
| Mulgore | Grim Tidings | The turn-in marker is more accurate. |
| Mulgore | Gloomrise | More even creature respawns and corrected Hatchling XP. |
| Teldrassil | Destiny Calls | Sethir respawns sooner and creates more minions after a reset. |
| Teldrassil | Escaping Ban’ethil | Sentinel Lynessa moves more slowly. |
| Tirisfal Glades | Shadowvale and Bandarion Keep | Quest and creature levels increased to fit the preceding content. |
| Warrior | Ulag the Cleaver | The Mausoleum Trigger’s slow reactivation has been fixed. |
Later quests and dungeon follow-ups
The Horn of Echeyakee is no longer consumed when used. Keep it until the quest is finished so you can summon again if needed. In Redridge, Weapon Racks, Stolen Weapons and Blackrock Supplies for Blackrock Blockade respawn faster. Loch Modan has fewer Dark Iron Ambushers appearing at Miran’s camp during Resupplying the Excavation.
In Excavation Site: Wetlands, the Titan Relic is returned for Earthen Echo or Prehistoric Prism. You should no longer need another relic after Elder Knowledge or Lost Relic Carry.
Stitches is hostile again when entering Darkshire. The Night Watchman’s Torch no longer puts a visible aura on illuminated players other than its bearer. Keep an eye on the road while checking your next objective.
If your guide still points to an old objective
Check the quest title, objective text and required level in your current log first. Then compare them with the active step in your leveling addon. A game patch and an addon release can arrive at different times.
If a step no longer matches, use the guide’s details and route controls to review your progress. Keep a note of any step you defer so you can return to it. Avoid abandoning a quest solely because its marker moved.
For a useful report, include your race, class, level, quest name, addon version and a screenshot of the objective. That lets the guide author distinguish a changed game objective from a tracking problem.
The Desolace chain now starts at level 35
The new Gelkis and Magram quests beginning with Valley of Bones now require level 35, up from 30. The notes also announce a coming hotfix to give their rewards a matching level-35 equip requirement.
That distinction matters in the level-30 beta. Do not plan this chain as your next available leveling stop. A reward already in your bags and a quest you can newly accept can have different restrictions while the hotfix rolls out.
