Does WoW Forever have quest markers? What the map shows and what needs an addon
WoW Forever’s map and tracker show objectives for quests in your log. See what the beta shows, the marker fixes in the October 8 notes and the addons that add pins for quests you can pick up.
Does WoW Forever have quest markers?
Yes, for quests you have already accepted. Forever’s world map and quest tracker show where to go for quests in your log, and Blizzard is still fixing individual markers in its beta notes.
Quests you have not picked up yet are a different matter. Blizzard has not announced map pins for available quests. Addons such as Forever Quest Pins and Questie add them.
We have not checked every marker in the current beta build. If one is missing, it may be a bug rather than a design choice.

What the built-in map and tracker show
Blizzard’s beta notes describe several changes to the map, quest log and tracker since September:
- Map and quest log key bindings were updated on September 24, and points of interest on the map gained new hover functionality.
- Since October 8, opening the map starts with focus on the quest log.
- Quest types now appear as text in the quest log, the tracker and quest dialogue.
- The tracker now shows quest level requirements.
Marker fixes in the October 8 notes
The October 8 notes also list fixes for individual quest markers. Blizzard is placing these markers quest by quest, and some were missing or wrong earlier in the beta.
| Quest | Change |
|---|---|
| The Principal Source | New map marker |
| Lazy Peons | Marker now includes the peons to the north |
| Grim Tidings (Mulgore) | Turn-in marker updated for accuracy |
| Hidden Enemies | Map marker and tooltip for Neeru Fireblade |
| Plundering the Plunderers (Rogue) | Map markers added |
How to see quests you have not picked up
Forever Quest Pins adds map pins for quests you can accept. CurseForge listed version 0.2.13, updated October 12, with nearly 33,000 downloads. Its page says Forever’s own tracker and objective pins still handle quests in your log, so the addon fills the gap rather than replacing them.
The page also warns that beta quest data is still changing and that quests started from items may not appear. Questie is the other common choice. Our quest helper comparison explains how the two styles differ.
- A yellow exclamation mark shows a quest you can accept.
- A blue one shows a repeatable quest.
- A red-orange one shows a dungeon or raid quest.
- Clicking a pin sets a waypoint with Blizzard’s map pin or TomTom.
Do you need markers or a route?
Markers show where a quest is. They do not tell you which quests to do next or in what order, so you still plan your own path through each zone.
Wisp, our own addon, works differently. It follows one supported route and shows the next step beside your character, with an arrow and distance to the next objective or turn-in. Some players prefer a map full of options. Others would rather see one clear next step.
If a quest marker is missing
Work through these checks before assuming a quest is broken:
- Make sure the quest is in your log and tracked.
- Read the tracker for a level requirement, which it now shows.
- Open the map, which now starts with the quest log in focus, and select the quest.
- Turn off map addons one at a time to see whether one is hiding Blizzard’s pins.
- If the marker is still missing or wrong, report it to Blizzard with the quest name. The October 8 fixes show it corrects markers quest by quest.
