WoW Forever Arcanite Blacksmith Hammer: requirements and crafting materials

The Arcanite Blacksmith Hammer doubles as a thrown weapon and a profession tool. Check its level 49 requirement, Blacksmithing skill and listed materials.

A crafting tool you can also throw

Arcanite Blacksmith Hammer is listed as a thrown weapon that also serves as a Blacksmith Hammer. Wowhead highlighted it on October 4 alongside the beta’s profession-themed equipment. It combines a profession tool role with a combat item, which makes it an interesting later goal for a blacksmith.

The current entry requires character level 49 and Blacksmithing 270. Do not confuse its item level of 54 with the level you need to equip it. This is not something to buy materials for as part of a level 1–20 starter route.

Which materials does the recipe list?

The recipe entry lists four Dark Iron Bars, one Arcanite Bar and one Blue Sapphire. That gives you a shopping reference for later planning. It does not establish where to learn the recipe, whether your character can access that source, or what the finished craft will cost on your realm.

Check the recipe in your own profession window before committing to expensive materials. If you cannot learn it yet, keep this as a future goal rather than filling your bags with ingredients you cannot use.

Should you throw away your normal hammer?

Keep your ordinary Blacksmith Hammer until you have confirmed that the new item satisfies the tool requirement for the crafts you use. We have not tested whether carrying it and equipping it behave identically for every recipe. Its tool description also does not establish that every class can use it as a weapon.

The listed stun is a chance-on-hit effect. It is not a stun you can press on demand, and we are not assigning it a proc rate from player comments. Compare it with your actual equipment and class weapon options before calling it an upgrade.

What to do while you are still leveling

Pick a useful craft for your current character and gather toward that first. Replacing a weak item, making supplies for a friend or keeping your next training visit in mind gives your profession a purpose without turning every questing session into a materials hunt.

For earlier profession equipment, we have separate guides to Smelting Pants and Cookie’s Stirring Rod. Their effects and requirements are different. Follow the relevant item guide instead of assuming all profession gear boosts crafting speed.
