Earning points and spending points have different limits

Blizzard’s announced launch limits are 65 earnable Legacy Points and 16 spendable points per character. Eligible alts share earned progression but make their own allocations. Points come from Legacy Challenges, while additional accomplishments also contribute to cosmetic rewards.

Treat those official limits separately from the beta entries below. A datamined requirement describes a potential challenge; it does not prove that every reward is available during the current test.

Which activities appear in the beta data?

Wowhead’s 16 September datamine contains the following examples. This is a grouped summary, not a claim that we have independently verified a complete checklist.

ActivityExamples in the datamine
Class levellingFirst-time level 25, 45 and 60 milestones for individual classes.
Crafting professionsSkill 150, 225 and 300 milestones for Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking and Tailoring.
Dungeons and raidsDungeon completion challenges and entries for Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia.
ExplorationA reward entry associated with Explore Azeroth.
PvPField of Honor weeks 4, 7 and 10, plus selected reputation goals.

Do repeated datamined entries mean extra points?

Not necessarily. The published list contains duplicate-looking descriptions and hidden records. Counting every row as a separate attainable reward would produce an unreliable total. We have not assigned those duplicates to particular rulesets or assumed that hidden entries award points.

Use the reward and completion state displayed in your client before adding an entry to a personal checklist. If two entries look identical, retain their identifiers in your testing notes and record which one actually advances.

A practical plan for your first character

Our recommendation is to look for overlap with the character you already want to play. Choose a profession because its gameplay, crafting or utility interests you, then use a nearby milestone as a secondary goal. Buying a large amount of material to chase an untested reward may leave you short of money for the rest of your journey.

For an alt, write down the next natural class milestone and one profession objective. Add a dungeon only when it fits your group and your available time. This keeps the checklist useful without turning every session into a collection of unrelated detours.

  • Pick one goal that advances your main activity.
  • Check the exact requirement and reward in the current build.
  • Record the completion once, with its date and character.
  • Revisit your allocations when your playstyle changes.

Choose where to spend points after choosing how to play

The announced starting trees are Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness. Blizzard illustrates gathering benefits, rested-experience benefits and reagent-related utility. The screenshot below is an announcement example, not proof of a final beta tooltip.

Our planning approach is to pick one recurring inconvenience and compare the relevant choices. Someone who gathers on every journey has a different priority from someone returning to an alt after several days away. Write down the benefit you expect, then check whether you notice it in normal play.

What is the fastest way to earn Legacy Points?

The datamine alone cannot answer that. Time to complete a goal depends on prerequisites, character progress, group availability and actual beta behaviour. We are not publishing a fastest-points route without that evidence.

Start by timing a goal that was already part of your session. Keep the full cost, including travel and preparation. That will give you a realistic comparison when another option becomes available.
