WoW Forever Gnome Eureka: what changed for leveling?
Eureka no longer benefits periodic effects in the Forever beta. Understand the Gnome racial’s current wording, channels and what to check before changing your build.
Eureka now excludes periodic effects
The October 2 beta change removes Eureka’s benefit from periodic effects. Channeled spells are explicitly excluded from that restriction. The distinction matters if you have been reading older Gnome build advice based on damage-over-time effects.
For the Warrior version, the current tooltip describes the next three non-periodic damaging abilities costing 10% less Rage and dealing 10% more damage. The entry lists a two-minute cooldown and a 15-second duration. Use your class’s tooltip for its resource and eligible ability wording.

Three details to check on your character
Check the type of effect, the remaining duration and the number of charges. A bonus to three eligible abilities is not a permanent 10% increase to your character’s damage. It also does not mean your whole leveling session will be 10% shorter.
Treat damage over time and channeling as separate categories. The change does not say that every spell which deals damage across several moments is excluded. For an ability with both a direct hit and a periodic component, the sources here do not establish every interaction. Test the ability itself before building a rotation around it.
How to use this while leveling
Our suggestion is to put Eureka somewhere you will remember it during an ordinary fight. Pick a target that will survive long enough for the abilities you intend to use, rather than spending the cooldown on a nearly defeated enemy.
Try it on comparable enemies with the same weapon and talents. Watch which action uses a charge and what happens to the resource cost. Separate misses, critical hits and other temporary buffs when comparing the result. One unusually strong hit does not tell you the value across a whole questing session.
If you are experimenting with a new class, learn the abilities you actually have before copying a maximum-level opener. A useful racial that fits your current spellbook is easier to judge than a rotation built around talents you cannot yet reach.
Should you change race because of this?
We would not reroll an enjoyable character on the strength of a single beta adjustment. This change narrows which effects benefit, but it does not provide a complete ranking of Gnomes against other races. Your class, the encounters you enjoy and later tuning all matter.
For a Gnome already starting in Dun Morogh, continue with the Dwarf and Gnome route and select your class to see its specific quests. Use the talent guide for your class when deciding where the next point goes, rather than treating a racial headline as a new leveling build.
