WoW Forever Skyborne classes, race combinations and racial changes

Skyborne class choices, six new race/class combinations and confirmed Dwarf and Undead racial changes, with a practical character shortlist.

Skyborne class options depend on faction

Blizzard’s What’s Next recap says Skyborne choose Horde or Alliance at character creation. Both can be Warriors, Hunters, Rogues or Druids, with race-specific Druid forms. Horde Skyborne can additionally be Shamans; Alliance Skyborne can additionally be Mages.

Six new combinations for existing races

The Deep Dive confirms Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock and Undead Paladin. This list describes newly added options, not the entire character-creation roster.

Confirmed Dwarf and Undead racial changes

Blizzard describes two active and two passive abilities per race. Its recap gives these Dwarf and Undead examples; they are not a complete race ranking.

How should racials influence your character choice?

Our recommendation is to settle faction and class first, then compare racial utility within the options you actually want to play. Ask whether the ability helps during your ordinary sessions, whether you enjoy using it and whether it changes a group responsibility.

For a gathering-focused character, convenient tracking may be more noticeable than a damage bonus in a rare encounter. For a player interested in Paladin, the new Undead combination makes the class available on Horde, but the class toolkit and your friends’ faction are still central decisions.

The official recaps used here do not provide a complete numeric Skyborne racial sheet. Keep demo reports and final values distinct when comparing the optional race. We will add more precise recommendations when the actual abilities and their conditions can be checked.

Does the subscription include Skyborne?

Skyborne access is an optional upgrade benefit. Blizzard lists it in the Heroic Pack and the higher tiers that include Heroic benefits.

Our advice: make a two-character shortlist

Pick one character you would enjoy playing alone and one you would enjoy bringing to a regular group. Write a sentence explaining each choice. If both answers describe only a predicted damage ranking, add the everyday activities you actually want to spend time doing.

A helpful shortlist includes your preferred role, faction, session length and tolerance for downtime. If friends are involved, agree on those practical details early. A theoretically ideal class is little help when your group cannot meet at the same time.

What to check in the client

Try the basic combat loop before locking in a long-term plan. Test targeting, movement, recovery between fights and how easily you can follow objectives. Make notes about awkward moments as well as satisfying ones.

Keep initial impressions separate from balance claims. A few levels can tell you whether you enjoy the controls, but they cannot establish endgame performance. Revisit the shortlist after you have tried the role you expect to play, and keep equipment and level differences in mind when comparing characters.
