WoW Forever Horde racials: the latest Orc, Troll and Undead changes
Blood Fury, Berserking and Touch of the Grave changed in Blizzard’s October 27 addendum. Here is what to check before choosing your Horde leveling character.
Three numbers to check before choosing your race
Blizzard added three omitted racial changes to its October 26 notes on October 27. Orc Blood Fury has a shorter cooldown, Troll Berserking lasts longer, and Undead Touch of the Grave has a shorter internal cooldown.
These are additions to the same tuning announcement. They do not establish which race levels fastest.
| Race and ability | Earlier value | Updated value |
|---|---|---|
| Orc: Blood Fury cooldown | 3 minutes | 2 minutes |
| Troll: Berserking duration | 10 seconds | 15 seconds |
| Undead: Touch of the Grave internal cooldown | 25 seconds | 15 seconds |

Orc: think about when you use Blood Fury
Our advice for a new Orc is to put the ability somewhere you will remember during an ordinary questing session. When comparing race choices, ask whether you enjoy having another active button to use.
Do not build a route around saving every cooldown for a hypothetical perfect fight. Consider the next pull, your resources and whether you have room to recover afterward. A stronger button is useful only when the rest of the fight is manageable.
Troll: duration is different from strength
A longer effect gives you a larger window to use it. That does not mean the percentage bonus itself increased. Read a race comparison carefully if it describes this change as simply more haste.
For your own character, think about the fights you tend to take. A brief single-enemy pull and a longer encounter give a timed ability different opportunities. We would not turn that observation into a blanket recommendation to pull more enemies.
Undead: an internal cooldown is not a timer to follow
The internal cooldown describes a restriction on how often an effect can occur. It is not a promise that you receive the effect at every interval.
Our recommendation is to choose your route around quest objectives and safe travel. Do not plan a difficult pull around receiving an unconfirmed heal at a particular second. Recovery supplies and a way to disengage are easier to plan around.
Skyborne clarification: death and raids
The same addendum confirms that Attuned and Charged survive death but are removed when entering a raid. The separate Skyborne explainer covers how these buffs relate to Read Leyline and Skysight.
Choose the character, then the route
Our suggestion is to settle the class you want to play and the faction your friends are joining before comparing small racial differences. A character you enjoy taking through the world is a better starting point than a ranking with no clear testing behind it.
Once you have chosen, use a route for that starting area. You can read the written guide ahead of time or follow it in Wisp while playing. Race tuning changes the character’s tools, but it does not replace knowing which objectives belong on the same trip.
