WoW Forever’s new quests: what changes for the 1–60 journey?
New quests reach familiar zones as well as new regions. Here is what the interviews establish, and how to adapt a levelling plan without guessing.
More than 1,000 new quests across the journey
Blizzard announces more than 1,000 new quests throughout levels 1–60. The additions extend beyond the four new regions.
Do familiar starting areas and zones get new quests?
In GameSpot’s Josh Greenfield interview, reproduced by Yahoo, the developer describes additions from around level five onward and points to Wetlands and Azshara as familiar zones gaining quests. The article describes new regions with roughly 50–200 quests apiece; those estimates are not a complete quest inventory.
Its discussion also emphasises grounded local stories and mysteries, including a tease around The Missing Diplomat. A tease does not provide an ending, a quest ID or a verified walkthrough. We are keeping those details open until they can be checked.
Does more quest content mean less XP is needed per level?
Wowhead’s 15 September interview notes report that the experience curve has not changed. More possible quest paths and a lower XP requirement are separate changes; the former does not establish the latter.
How should you use an old Classic route?
Our recommendation is to treat it as a list of assumptions to check. A new quest near an existing objective might fit neatly into a session, while a chain with a distant prerequisite might need a separate trip. Neither conclusion follows just from its level or zone name.
When assessing an addition, record the pickup location, requirements, objective area and hand-in. Then decide where you would leave your current route and where you would rejoin it. This gives you a useful comparison without pretending that the fastest path is already known.
| Situation | Question to check |
|---|---|
| A new quest appears beside your current objective | Can you complete both without changing the travel plan? |
| A chain sends you into another region | What prerequisites and return journey does it add? |
| A dungeon quest becomes available | Can your group combine it with a planned first run? |
| A quest is absent on another character | Is the difference faction, class, level, progress or build? |
What this means for Horde and Alliance guides
A shared zone name does not prove that both factions have the same pickups or travel connections. A route needs to be checked for the character following it. This matters especially when combining ordinary quests, class chains and profession stops.
Our preparation pages and planned route catalogue should be read according to their testing labels. This article adds interview context; it does not turn a planned Horde or Alliance route into a completed, playtested guide.
