WoW Forever November 2 patch: your leveling setup checklist

Get ready for the Forever launch patch. Check changed talent plans, missing action-bar spells, bag slots and your leveling addon before starting a new character.

Start with the confirmed notes

Blizzard’s November 2 update brings broad class damage increases, with higher-level creature health raised too. Training costs have changed. Newly learned spells no longer appear on action bars automatically, and bags need manual equipping.

Four checks before you head out

CheckWhat we suggest doing
SpellbookAfter training, look through the abilities you learned and put the ones you want on reachable buttons.
BagsOpen your inventory and check that a new bag is actually in a bag slot.
Talent planCompare the current tree with the plan you intend to follow, especially its early points.
Guide addonCheck your installed version and select the right route for your character. Keep the quest text available when a step needs a closer look.

Check the date on your leveling build

A build can look familiar while relying on an earlier arrangement of talents. Before following a saved screenshot, compare the names, maximum ranks and prerequisites in the game. Start with the next few points you can actually spend.

Our older class deep dives now carry a notice directing readers to this update. Their previous review date does not mean they have been checked against the new patch. We are keeping those dated references visible rather than presenting an older allocation as a newly verified launch build.

In Wisp, you can preview a build before choosing it. If a plan does not match your character’s tree, stop and review the difference. Selecting a guide should not replace reading the ability you are about to learn.

Keep the first session simple

Our advice is to try your setup on ordinary quests before taking on a difficult cave or a large pull. Check that your keybinds feel comfortable and that you can find healing, control and escape abilities without searching the bars.

Keep a little spare room in your bags and look at the trainer’s prices before spending on optional purchases. The useful budget is the one for your next stop, not a spreadsheet that assumes every purchase happens at once.

If you want the route beside your character, Wisp provides in-game guide steps and navigation. Our written routes are there when you prefer to read ahead. Neither needs you to turn your first evening into a race.
