WoW Forever PvP ranks: Honor, gear upgrades and Legacy tasks
Understand WoW Forever’s Honor currency, Rank Points, weekly progression and gear upgrades, including which PvP Legacy tasks remain available in future seasons.
Honor buys gear, Rank Points advance your rank
WoW Forever separates spendable Honor from Rank Points. Battlegrounds and relevant PvP quests contribute to progression, with holiday battleground bonuses. Ranks have a weekly cap. Use the Player vs. Player tab in your character panel to check progress and available rewards.
When planning a session, decide which goal you are pursuing. A currency balance, your rank and a faction reputation can all describe progress, but they answer different questions.

Keep the blue piece for its epic upgrade
Honor purchases PvP gear. Upgrading a blue piece to its epic version requires that piece plus an Emboldened Seal, and the seal has a rank requirement.
Before replacing or discarding equipment, check whether it is part of the upgrade you want. Pick a target slot, read the vendor requirements and compare it with your current quest or dungeon item. Reaching a rank unlock does not automatically put the reward in your bags.

Do seasonal Legacy tasks expire?
Blizzard says three tasks per season also award a Legacy Point. Because those tasks belong to the Legacy System, they remain available in future seasons.
That is useful when deciding whether to interrupt your leveling plans for a seasonal objective. It is not a blanket promise about the availability of every seasonal item or cosmetic. Check the specific task or reward you care about.
Plan around the cap shown on your character
The announcement describes a weekly limit but does not provide a complete week-by-week schedule. We have removed the old community estimate of a ten-week Rank 14 grind from this guide.
Our advice is to check the displayed cap before committing to a long session for rank progress. If you also want a purchase or reputation reward, keep that goal visible so you know what you are still working towards.
For a personal comparison between battlegrounds, include queue time and the full match rather than only its busiest few minutes. A map you enjoy with your group may fit your evening better than a theoretical return that ignores waiting.
Fit PvP into the character you want to play
If you are still leveling, choose a manageable first goal such as learning a battleground or checking a particular vendor. Keep enough time for the quest route you planned before the queue popped.
