WoW Forever Shaman leveling weapons: Rage of the Storm and new fist weapons
Compare Rage of the Storm, Lightning’s Grasp and Tidebringer’s Claw in the Forever beta data. What their bonuses do and what we know about obtaining them.
Three Shaman weapons worth keeping an eye on
Rage of the Storm, Lightning’s Grasp and Tidebringer’s Claw are listed in Wowhead’s Forever database, with bonuses aimed at melee attacks, Lightning Bolt and healing. Recent Reddit discussions compare them with the Warrior Whirlwind weapon quest.
The items are real database entries. How to obtain them is still the missing part. Here is what the current tooltips tell us, so you can follow the discoveries without planning your leveling route around an unconfirmed quest.

Which weapon fits the way you play?
For an Enhancement Shaman, Rage of the Storm is the obvious one to investigate. Its bonus names Stormstrike specifically, alongside Strength, Stamina and a slow two-handed swing. The 10% applies to that ability. It is not a promise of 10% more damage across an entire fight.
Lightning’s Grasp is more interesting if Lightning Bolt is a regular part of your questing. Tidebringer’s Claw puts more of its budget into healing, with a bonus naming two direct heals. Those different effects give you a useful way to compare the weapons with your own spells and the role you enjoy in a group.
The tooltips alone cannot settle a best-weapon ranking. Compare the complete weapon, your talents and what you actually cast before deciding that one attractive bonus makes it an upgrade.
Is a Shaman Whirlwind weapon quest confirmed?
No confirmed quest chain is established by these sources. The original poster says they do not know the source and guesses that the weapons are quest rewards. In the follow-up thread, they explain the comparison with the Warrior reward and speculate about the same quest giver.
That is an interesting lead, but it does not establish a starting NPC, required items, unlock level or a choice between all three weapons. Avoid buying Whirlwind quest materials or making a special journey on that assumption.
Does item level 40 mean you must be level 40?
All three entries show item level 40 and bind-on-pickup status. Item level describes the item, rather than confirming the character level at which its source becomes available. The entries reviewed here do not establish when you can earn these weapons.
Keep any eventual quest requirement separate from the item level when checking updates. A verified quest entry or an in-game completion would answer questions that an isolated tooltip cannot.
Carry on with your Shaman leveling route
