WoW Forever Skyborne models: what Blizzard has said so far

Blizzard says more Skyborne model information is coming. Watch the official video, separate the announcement from speculation and choose the right Skyborne leveling route.

More information is coming, but the models have not been revealed

Blizzard’s official World of Warcraft channel has pinned a comment beneath its new Skyborne video saying that more information about Skyborne models is coming. The comment does not reveal a replacement model, give a release date or say exactly which options will change.

That is the useful distinction if you are deciding whether to start a Skyborne. There is an official acknowledgement of the subject. There is not yet enough in that comment to promise a particular Standard-Definition design.

Watch the official Skyborne introduction

The October 5 video introduces the race’s background and abilities. Its description follows High Elven exiles who found shelter with wind spirits and later began looking beyond that refuge. It is an introduction to the race, rather than a walkthrough of newly announced model settings.

Wowhead’s accompanying report notes that Skyborne do not currently have proper Standard-Definition equivalents for their character models and Druid forms. That is the context for the discussion, not confirmation of what Blizzard will deliver next.

Your faction still determines your class options

Blizzard’s race overview gives Horde Skyborne access to Shaman and Alliance Skyborne access to Mage. Both factions can choose Warrior, Hunter, Rogue or Druid. Both start on Zephras Isle, which Blizzard describes as a level 1–12 experience.

Those are concrete choices you can plan around now. If you are starting with friends, agree on faction before comparing appearances. A shared race name does not mean a Horde and Alliance character can follow the same faction story together.

Should you wait before starting a Skyborne?

If a particular visual style is essential to your character, wait for Blizzard to show it before making plans that depend on it. A promise of more information is too small a basis for assuming the finished look will match a fan mock-up or a forum suggestion.

If you mainly want to try the starting quests and your chosen class, the current beta still lets you explore those parts of the character. Treat that as trying the present version. Keep the model question open until the next announcement.

When reading reactions, look for a link back to the official video or a newer Blizzard post. Screenshots from existing races and suggested redesigns can be interesting, but they do not establish a new Skyborne option.

Choose the guide that matches your Skyborne

Our written Skyborne guides are split by faction, with class controls for the relevant instructions. Choose the Alliance or Horde page before starting, then match the class selection to your character. Wisp brings supported route steps and navigation into the game when you would rather keep the directions beside your questing.

The model discussion does not change which faction’s quest guide you need. Keep that choice separate from the appearance you hope to use later.
