WoW Forever bank space, bags and hidden loot explained

What Blizzard has said about larger banks, original-size bags and hidden loot stats, plus practical inventory planning for the Forever beta.

Three panels distinguish bank storage, carried bags and undiscovered loot.

Does Forever have bigger banks and bags?

Blizzard described a substantially larger default bank while bags begin at original sizes. Josh Greenfield was unsure of the precise bank capacity in the interview, so 96 slots should not be treated as a verified specification. Additional storage ideas were discussed without a launch commitment.

Why might loot stats be missing from a database?

The interview describes withholding item stats until a drop reveals them to players on a server. The aim is discovery before complete raid gearing lists exist. Greenfield also said there would not initially be a Dungeon Journal explaining encounters. These are developer statements, not our measurements of the beta.

Why keep situational equipment?

Blizzard wants smaller power increases and situational equipment effects to help older rewards remain useful. An item’s rarity alone therefore need not settle which piece is best for a particular purpose.

A practical way to organise your next beta session

Our suggestion is to divide your inventory by the job each item does. Keep the equipment you use now easy to find, and put speculative alternatives on a short review list instead of letting every unusual tooltip become permanent clutter.

Before selling something unfamiliar, check whether it is marked as a quest item and whether you have an active objective involving it. For equipment, write down the reason you are retaining it: a second role, a different damage type or a specific encounter. If there is no concrete use yet, record that uncertainty.

How to read an early loot guide

Check whether a guide shows a client record, a reported drop or a repeatable source. Those answer different questions. A tooltip can establish a recorded stat without proving which boss drops the item. An empty database field also does not prove that an item has no effect.

For our own future gearing comparisons, useful evidence will include the item link, client build, activity and observed reward source. A best-in-slot recommendation needs more than an appealing name or an item-level number.

Start with space you can actually use

For early bag rewards, use our separate report and confirm the quest and reward in your current client. For crashes or access problems, use the troubleshooting guide before treating a missing interface panel as an inventory change.
