WoW Forever Engineering bombs: Satchel of Copper Bombs explained
Beta players have found equippable bomb satchels. Check the copper recipe, level and Engineering requirements, screenshots and what this means while levelling.

These bombs occupy a thrown-weapon slot
A September 19 r/classicwow post shows schematics for Satchel of Copper Bombs and Satchel of Dark Iron Bombs. Their tooltips describe equippable thrown weapons whose attacks cause nearby fire damage. The copper item also appears in Wowhead’s Forever recipe database.
That gives Engineering another item to consider during levelling. The word satchel is easy to misread, but this item is equipment rather than extra inventory space. Check whether your character can use the weapon type before spending materials on it.
Copper satchel requirements and materials
The player screenshot and current database record agree on these requirements and ingredients. Read the character-level requirement separately from the item level.

|---|---|
| Character requirement | Level 13 |
| Profession requirement | Engineering 85 |
| Equipment type | Thrown weapon, unique, binds when picked up |
| Bonus shown | +2 Stamina |

| Crafting station in the recipe database | Anvil |
Do not build a damage ranking from these tooltips yet
The screenshot shows a range of 1 to 11 fire damage on the copper effect. Wowhead currently renders the effect as 6 fire damage. We have not established why those displays differ or measured the item in combat, so neither figure becomes a promised damage result here.
For a useful personal comparison, keep your targets and other equipment the same. Check how the throw works, what happens around nearby enemies and whether it suits the fights you are doing. Area damage can also be inconvenient when you want to leave another creature alone.
There is no basis here for calling Engineering mandatory or this item best in slot. A profession choice should also fit what you enjoy making and the time you want to spend gathering.
Where are players finding the schematics?
The post’s author says the schematics are sold through the supply-crate faction and its currency. The screenshots show vendor tooltips, but they do not establish a complete vendor route or both factions’ requirements. The dark iron screenshot also shows an Honored reputation requirement.
If you find the vendor, check the schematic name, reputation gate and price on your own character before turning in supplies for it. Blizzard’s September 18 issue list includes broken Waylaid Crate turn-ins, with fixes planned for a later beta build. A rejected turn-in may be a known issue rather than a missing profession skill.
The dark iron version is a later-level preview
The second screenshot shows Satchel of Dark Iron Bombs with level 52 and Engineering 285 requirements, plus 8 Stamina. It lists 20 Dark Iron Bombs, 6 Rugged Leather and an Unstable Trigger as materials.
Blizzard opened this beta with a level-20 cap. A higher-level schematic being visible at a vendor does not mean a character can equip and test the finished item in that opening content.

Fit the craft around the quests you already planned
Treat the copper satchel as an optional project. First confirm that you can learn the recipe and use the item. Then compare what you already have with the material list. The leather requirement is a good reason to trade with a friend rather than change your whole profession plan.
Keep the next trainer or anvil visit alongside a trip you already need to make. Wisp is being built to weave supported profession stops into levelling guides, so crafting can sit naturally alongside questing. We do not currently offer a verified route for this schematic.
