The proposed Beast Mastery levelling build

This Beast Mastery plan assumes you keep an active pet and fight mainly at range. It invests in pet durability and control before adding Marksmanship support. It suits a player who wants the pet to remain part of each pull; a petless or melee Hunter needs a different allocation and encounter plan.

At level 60, the allocation is 31/20/0 in the tree order shown below. The table assumes a fresh character with no Talented Legacy ranks and spends one point each level from 10 to 60. Point 31 is Bestial Wrath at level 40.

Hunter talent order, level by level

Read from top to bottom. A level range means spend one point per level in that talent; the rank range shows your resulting ranks, not extra points to add all at once. Repeated talents resume an earlier investment. This order checks the published tier gates and prerequisites without requiring a respec.

The level-60 endpoint is a planning target, not a claim that the current beta level cap lets you reach it. If you already have a different allocation, compare the prerequisites before copying the next row.

How to approach solo questing with this build

Choose a safe place for the pet to fight before sending it in. Leave yourself room to move, keep the escape direction away from fresh enemies, and watch whether your opening attacks pull the target away from the pet. A reliable pull matters more than starting every attack immediately.

The order includes Summon Hawk, Intimidation and Bestial Wrath. The extracted Hawk tooltip shares a cooldown with Arcane Shot, so test those buttons as competing choices rather than assuming both belong in the same opening sequence. Intimidation is also a control decision, not merely another button to press as soon as it lights up.

Pathfinding and Spirit Bond give this proposal a travel-and-recovery emphasis. Record the journey between objectives as well as the fights. If the pet repeatedly dies, investigate its training, level and the enemies you are choosing before assuming a different talent will solve the problem.

Dungeon play and alternative talent choices

In a dungeon, manage the pet around corners, ledges and crowd control. Follow the group’s target and check where the pet will travel. The later Trueshot Aura investment fits ranged party support, but it does not excuse an uncontrolled pull.

Lone Wolf is a different Marksmanship direction because its benefit requires having no active pet. Do not add it to this pet-led plan as a spare point. Survival’s melee choices likewise deserve a dedicated weapon and positioning plan instead of being mixed into this allocation piecemeal.

Adjusting the order for the Talented Legacy perk

Wowhead’s calculator models Talented ranks 1–5 as moving the first talent point from level 10 down to levels 9–5, while keeping the maximum at 51. Under that model, subtract your Talented rank from every level in the order above. For example, with rank 3, the first point is at level 7 and point 31 is at level 37.

This shifts the proposed point schedule; it does not award more than 51 points or prove that every associated ability is available earlier. The default plan assumes rank 0. Use only the rank actually active on your character and verify the rules in the client.

The first five points support the pet. If Talented grants points before your character has the required pet access, those points will not provide their intended benefit yet. Complete the actual class unlocks; a talent schedule cannot replace them.

Open the build and compare the calculators

The populated ForeverChanges link opens this guide’s final level-60 allocation. Use the order above for the journey to that endpoint. The separate Wowhead link opens the class calculator so you can inspect and experiment with its tree; it is not a prefilled copy of this build.

At review, Wowhead still displayed a BlizzCon-footage data warning. This guide uses the newer build-attributed extract for talent constraints. If a calculator shows a different rank, position or prerequisite, stop at that difference and check its source date instead of forcing the allocation to fit. Saved links can also change meaning when an external calculator updates its trees.

What needs checking in the Forever client

Record the client build, level, talents, equipment and enemies before comparing two choices. Use several similar pulls, and include travel, recovery, interruptions and deaths. Keep solo observations separate from dungeon results. The checks below are the specific questions this proposal should answer.

  • How often the target leaves the pet during your opening sequence.
  • Hawk versus Arcane Shot use under the shared cooldown.
  • Pet recovery, travel time and deaths across the whole quest session.

Hunter levelling talent questions

Is this the best Hunter levelling build? It is a complete, sourced proposal for pet-led ranged questing. We have no comparative Forever playtests that establish it as the fastest or safest choice.

Can I follow it without Legacy perks? Yes: the main order uses no Talented ranks and allocates all 51 points from levels 10–60. You can adjust the schedule with the separate Legacy table.

Does Wisp select these talents in game? No. This is a free website guide. The current addon does not provide this talent recommendation system or spend talent points for you. Its available routes and testing status are described on the addon page.
